Lane A. Herrmann, 61, of Kimball, SD passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 6, 2010 at Protestant Parish in Kimball. A Committal Service will follow at the Kimball Community Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 6, 2010. Memorials in Lane’s honor may be directed to: Mission Haiti, PO Box 486, Tea, SD 57064.

Lane Albert Herrmann was born on October 29, 1949 to Leonard and Marjorie (Johnston) Herrmann in Grey Eagle, MN. In 1968 he graduated from Sunnyvale High School in Sunnyvale, CA and went on to attend the University of Wyoming in Laramie, WY. On June 5, 1976, he was united in marriage to Nancy Stachar in San Jose, CA.

Lane was employed as a truck driver for Yellow Freight for 38 years before retiring in 2009. He was a member of the Teamsters Local #749 in Sioux Falls, SD and attended Kimball Protestant Parish. He loved to hunt, enjoyed traveling and serving his community.

Grateful for having shared in Lane’s life: his wife of more than 34 years, Nancy Herrmann of Kimball, SD; his son, M. Andrew Stachar and wife, Michelle and their children Alexis, Hannah and Andrew Lane of Atoka, TN; his daughter, Carrie Kell and husband, Curtis and their children Ava and Blakeleigh of Memphis, TN; a brother, Sirano Herrmann and wife, Kathy of Longmont, CO; five sisters: Valora Bacolini and husband, Bart of San Jose, CA, Lynette Thomas and husband, Frank of San Jose, CA, Luann Gandy and husband, Craig of Longmont, CO; Glenda Helms of Fairbanks, AK and Arlette Kilian and husband, Wayne of Longmont, CO; along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Lane was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Marjorie Herrmann.
